Deacon Stanley Featherstone has been a faithful and committed member of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden since 1991. He has served in various ministry capacities including Director of the Men’s Ministry, armor bearer to Pastor Jenkins, and has been an ordained Deacon since 1994. In addition, along with his wife Angelette, they served as the original logistical coordination team for the Couples Ministry for many years.
In October 1996, the then Major Featherstone was hired for the newly created position of Church Administrator of FBCG. He resigned his commission from the US Army after nearly14 years of service. Although he was experiencing tremendous success in the military, having been promoted “below the zone” to the rank of major and was considered in the top 5% of his peers, God turned this young officer’s heart from military to ministry.
In 2014, after just over 17 years as Church Administrator, Featherstone transitioned to a new assignment and now serves as Director of Facilities and Strategic Projects. In addition, he also serves as recorder for the Council of Elders, Secretary of Project Bridges and Chairman of an organization he helped found, the Network of Church Administrators as well as a board member for SHABACH! Ministries Inc.
Elder Featherstone is a 1983 cum laude graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He is married to his college sweetheart, the lovely Angelette Hicks. They reside in Bowie, MD and are the proud parents of four children: David Angelo, Victoria Nicole, Emmanuel Lewis and Elisha Stanley.
